Salty Dog Mercantile is a small shop in the heart of Arlington, WI where we make unique, quirky items that are sure to bring a bit of spice to your life. All of us have that one friend, that person who has an edgy personality and exudes sass. Those are our people! Our customers are animal lovers, embrace the weirdness in life, and love to laugh. We believe everyone deserves a little something special, and we're committed to providing it.

It all started here. Living in the city of Madison, a passion for animals, and a dream to give back to these creatures that show us so much love.

JUST A FARM, NOT A FARMER

Life in WIsconsin took us from the city to the farm. Embracing our new normal, my passion for animals lead me to embrace the farm life and these nutty goats joined our pack. As our family grew bigger, so did our hearts, dreams and ambitions.

GOT MILK?

After almost 10 years in Veterinary Medicine, home DIY projects were consuming my mind. Let's be honest, I became OBSESSED. In 2019 I quit my job and opened my Etsy shop, Rusty Red Rooster Decor. After 2 years of product research and development and a few bestsellers, I realized this side hustle was exactly what I was missing. This businesses relieves the creative itch that my corporate job lacks and allows me to care for my animals the way they deserve.

BALANCING ACT

After a few years on Etsy, juggling farm life and a corporate job, I was still looking for more. Because who doesn't want more stress? As of 2023, our products are now sold locally in 5 Wisconsin retail shops. As Salty Dog Mercantile evolves, we are happy to say that we are continuing to test our limits, and our sanity, by bringing you the most unique products with an edgy flare.
